Maine
May 2001. This wasn't exactly a warm and sunny trip either. The one thing we was looking forward to is the whale watching tour we booked, but we got a call early that morning and was told it was canceled due to the weather. It was nasty outside, so we decided to head to Freeport to check out the shopping. But we were disappointed we couldn't go whale watching and puffin seeing. The picture to the right is Carol standing at a lighthouse on Marginal Way in Ogunquit.

July 2001. Land of the cowboys and cowgirls. We took the trip to visit John, a friend of Carol's. The picture to the left is of the Mustangs in Las Colinas. The mustangs look as if they are running across a river.

Arizona
August 2001. What were we thinking? Taking a trip to Arizona during one of the state's hottest months?! Well, we did it and it was HOT! We put a lot of miles on the rental car and on our feet and despite the heat we had a wonderful time. The Grand Canyon was awesome and Sedona, well, I liked it so much I wouldn't mind living there.

Alaska Aug-Sep 2002. What a beautiful state! We spent 12 wonderful days there. It only rained 3 of the days, which wasn't too bad because we were driving. We'd rather be driving in the rain than sightseeing in it. I now know why it's called 'The Last Frontier'.
