This was a baby bull moose in Denali National Park.

This is a view from the George Parks Highway between Denali and Fairbanks

Carol at a section of the Alaska Pipeline near Fairbanks

Can you believe the size of this cabbage? That's Carol's foot next to it, which is probably about the size of a normal head of cabbage, or bigger ;-)

We visited the ice museum in downtown Fairbanks. We watched a film about the annual ice sculpturing championships. The sculpture Sarah is standing behind was done by local people and is of an Eskimo suit.

The sign says it all. Streets had names like Santa Claus Lane. The light poles were candy cane striped. Of course we saw Santa.

From Fairbanks we drove to Talkeetna and spent the night there. It was pouring rain when we got there. The next day was nice

We took a 45 minute flightseeing tour in this floatplane. The pilot was great.
We saw two moose and beautiful landscapes.

This Eagle we saw as we came out of the small boat harbor in Seward. What a great way to start an 8 hour cruise!

We got a nice treat to see this pod of Orca whales. They were very large and graceful mammals

The same pod of Orca whales showing off for us. Later they swam right under the boat. It was so cool to watch them come right for us and then go under the water. Since the water is so clear we could see them go under the boat.

This is about as close to puffins as we could get. They were mostly swimming in the water. Fun to watch them because they are so cute!

Stellar sea lions. The one near the water did slide into the water not long after the picture was taken.

We saw a couple of glaciers calving. Very cool experience!

There were quite a few sea lions lying on the ice chunks near the glacier.

Coming back into Whittier from our 4 1/2 hour glacier cruise. The barge is called an AquaTrain. The tugboat attaches a steel roped to the barge and pulls it. The sort of flat building are condos. This is where our B&B was. The taller buildings are the old Army barracks that are no longer occupied.

Here we are at Portage Glacier. You can't see the glacier anymore because it has nearly melted.
